Introduction: Atypical parathyroid adenoma (APA) is a difficultly diagnosed tumor, including some histological features of parathyroid carcinoma (PC). In literature, no definite criteria are considered to be present to distinguish preoperatively APA from PC. It is difficult to distinguish APA and PC intraoperatively.
